INSIGHT 10

EVERY WEBSITE NEEDS ONE CLEAR GOAL.

A business website might invite visitors to explore services, read insights, contact the team, book a meeting, or request a review. If all actions compete equally, it may be difficult to tell what matters most.

The insight

A website can support multiple needs while still having a clear primary purpose. That purpose depends on the business. For one organisation it may be to generate relevant enquiries; for another it may be to help customers find information or arrange a service. Once the goal is clear, page content and calls to action can support it more consistently.

Three goal checks

  1. Define the main outcome the website should support.
  2. Make the primary next step easy to recognise on the pages where it matters.
  3. Keep secondary actions available without allowing them to overwhelm the main message.

Clarity is not about removing every choice. It is about helping visitors recognise the next useful choice.
