INSIGHT 03
EVERY BUTTON SHOULD HAVE A PURPOSE.
A button is a small part of a page, but it asks a visitor to make a decision. If its label is vague or several buttons compete for attention, the next step may not feel clear.
The insight
A useful button sets an expectation. “Request a Review” tells people more than “Click Here”. The right action depends on the page and the visitor’s needs. Not every page needs the same primary button, and not every action should compete equally for attention.
Three quick checks
- Use a clear label that describes what happens next.
- Give the main action enough visual clarity without making every button look equally important.
- Check that the destination fulfils the promise made by the button.
A button is not just a design element. It is a promise about the next step.
